Schools in Australia

The educational system is increasingly becoming more advanced in order to strengthen and maintain the welfare of our children.

Children are no longer simply shut inside buried in books and reciting times tables robotically. Instead, they now have the opportunity to approach education in a more hands on, involved way.

Last year I visited a primary school where the teacher of the 3/4 class took her students somewhere every day, just so they could experience some “real” aspect of what they were learning. If they were studying the ocean, they would swim in it. If they were studying the atmosphere, they would fly in it. If they were studying space she would have done everything in her power to take her class there for the day.

My year 12 English Writing teacher was some sort of a godsend to the English Department, I’d always thought. I’d find a poet or a writer that intrigued me, and she would have him come in to our school and talk to us. She always had that willingness to take that one step further in order to make our education somewhat achievable – that if we wanted to be great writer someday then she would show us we could.

Teachers in Australia are a constant inspiration to their pupils. They allow for the interaction and social cognition with one another, in a Vygotsky moulded environment. There is nothing more important than a teacher putting his or her own opinion into the educational system, and helping to evolve it.
